David WelchPrior to joining Taroff & Taitz, David was with a small firm in Nassau County and operated his own practice in Melville, New York. David’s primary practice area has concerned compliance with United States tax law regarding unreported foreign accounts/assets and foreign income. David is experienced with various means of compliance with regard to these matters and is familiar with unusual foreign reporting rules such as distributions from foreign estates and Passive Foreign Income Company income report (“PFIC”). In addition, David has represented numerous buyers and sellers of real estate (commercial and residential), FIRPTA requirements and 1031 exchanges.

David attended the University of Richmond, graduated summa cum laude and was ranked second in his class. He also was an Articles and Comments Editor for the school’s law review. David attended Hamilton College in Clinton, New York where he majored in Asian Studies with a special emphasis on Chinese (Mandarin) language and modern Chinese history.

David will be concentrating his practice with the firm in the

areas of IRS compliance regarding unreported assets, commercial litigation, commercial transactions and real estate.

A native Long Islander, David lives in Huntington, New York with his wife and two children.
