David Welch, Associate at Roe Taroff & TaitzPrior to joining the firm, David operated his own practice in Melville, New York. David’s primary practice area concerned compliance with United States tax law regarding unreported foreign accounts/assets and foreign income. David is experienced with various means of compliance with regard to these matters and is familiar with unusual foreign reporting rules such as distributions from foreign estates and Passive Foreign Income Company income report (“PFIC”).   In addition, David has represented numerous buyers and sellers of real estate (commercial and residential), FIRPTA requirements and 1031 exchanges.

David attended the University of Richmond, graduated summa cum laude and was ranked second in his class. He also was an Articles and Comments Editor for the school’s law review. David attended Hamilton College in Clinton, New York where he majored in Asian Studies with a special emphasis on Chinese (Mandarin) language and modern Chinese history.

A native Long Islander, David lives in Huntington, New York with his wife and two children.
